When my daughter Sophie was little, we loved watching the old Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers dance movies. This dress was partially inspired by the dresses in those films, with their generous extravagance and freedom of movement. We like to describe it as Ginger Rogers meets a Grecian goddess in a frenzy of silk.
Then Alison Krauss came through our small town of Ashland, OR, to play at the Britt Festival in Jacksonville. She visited my boutique, Heart & Hands, and fell in love with the Yes Dress. She bought two of them and called me in January the following year to let me know she was going to wear to the Grammys. She even asked if I could make her a wrap to go with it. This was the big feather in my small town cap. Not only is she an amazing musician but has great fashion sensibility.
